National treasures elbow, legendary alt-rockers the The Jesus & Mary Chain and returning indie icons Gossip are just some of the big names with new albums out this Friday, backed by a formidable line-up of acclaimed figures including Big Thief leader Adrianne Lenker, bold and brilliant songwriter Julia Holter and cult indie artist Waxahatchee.

Elsewhere, we've a pair of fabulous new Dinked Edition titles from The Staves and Francis of Delirium (very limited copies of each remaining) - and that's without even touching on some of the star power, hidden gems and top reissues lurking further down this week's list.
